Indonesian Ginger Coffee recipe

How to make coffee ginger?

•    Serves: 2
•    Prep Time: 5 Minute
•    Total Time: 15 Minute


•    2 1/2 cups water
•    3 - 4 cloves
•    1 lemongrass
•    1 pandanus leaves
•    1 cinammon stick
•    3 inches fresh ginger
•    2 tbsp ground coffee
•    2 tbsp sugar


Broil the ginger about 3 - 4 inches from heat source, until it is dark brown. Peel the skin and smash it with cleaver.

Cut the lemongrass about 2 inches from the base. Discard the rest and use only the white part. Smash it with cleaver.

In a pot, add ginger, lemongrass, cinamon stick, pandanus leaves, cloves and water. Bring the water to a boil. Then lower the heat. Simmer about 10 minutes. Strain.

Put 1 tbsp ground coffee and 1 tbsp sugar into each cup and pour the ginger broth over it. Stir. Leave it for about 3-5 minutes to let the ground coffee settles in the bottom. Ready to serve.
