RECALL: Mr. Coffee Single Cup Brewing Systems being recalled
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health announced a voluntary recall of the consumer product. The products were sold online and in stores nationwide from September 2010 through August 2012. The products were available at Bed, Bath & Beyond, JC Penney, Kmart, Lowes, Target, Walmart and other stores. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.Approximately 520,000 coffee makers are being recalled because of a burn hazard.
Sunbeam Products Inc. is recalling Mr. Coffee Single Brewing Systems.
Incidents/Injuries: The company has received 164 reports of the brewing chamber opening due to steam pressure, including approximately 59 reports in the U.S. and two in Canada of burn injuries to consumers' face, upper torso and hands.
